Report: June home sales drop in Connecticut
Fewer Connecticut homes sold in June than a year ago, according to a Tuesday report, though the price of the median home sold hit a five-year high.
More than 3,750 single-family homes sold last month in Connecticut, the Boston-based Warren Group reported Tuesday, about 175 fewer than in June 2016 for a 4.4 percent decline.
To date this year, Connecticut home sales are down 1.5 percent to about 15,525 transactions.
The price of the median Connecticut home sold in June was $280,000, up 2.9 percent from a year earlier; with the equivalent home for the first half of 2018 priced at $254,000, a 3.7 percent increase.
Connecticut condominium sales dropped 3.6 percent in June to about 935 transactions, with the median price off 2.3 percent to $171,000.
