Austin Defeats Montana St. 30-13

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) _ Cliff Edwards rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns as Stephen F. Austin scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to beat Montana State 30-13 on Saturday night.

Micha Williams completed 9 of 15 passes for 188 yards, including a 74-yard touchdown, for Stephen F. Austin (1-1). Stephen Coker added three field goals, including kicks from 49 and 50 yards.

Tyler Thomas hit 20 of 38 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown for Montana State (1-1).

The Lumberjacks trailed 13-10 at halftime after Coker hit his 50-yarder as time expired.

But the Bobcats, whose only touchdown came on a 21-yard pass from Tyler to Junior Adams in the second quarter, were outscored 20-0 in the second half.

Williams hit Tony Tompkins for the 74-yard score in the third quarter, and Edwards scored his second touchdown with a 3-yard run in the fourth.

The Bobcats were held to 40 yards of offense in the half.
