BARCELONA, Spain (AP) _ Spain rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit Friday to beat Czechoslovakia 59-58 and finish fifth in the women’s Olympic basketball tournament.

Spain had beaten Czechoslovakia by the same score earlier in the tournament. The Spanish team finished 3-2, while Czechoslovakia - which went 0-5 and finished last four years ago at Seoul - wound up 1-4.

Czechoslovakia, behind the play of Iveta Bielikova and Renata Hirakova, took a 20-5 lead in the first 8 1/2 minutes. Then Spain scored the next 18 points - 14 from the free throw line - in a span of three minutes to take a 23-20 lead.

Spain led 47-42 with about 7 1/2 minutes to play before Czechoslovakia went on an 8-0 run to take a 50-47 lead.

Spain came right back, scoring eight straight to take a 55-50 lead with 3:52 left. Ana Alvaro had a 3-pointer and Marina Farragut converted a three- point play to cap the run.

After Kamila Vodickova scored five straight points to tie the score, Margarita Geuer scored inside to give Spain the lead for good, 57-55 with two minutes left.
