Brookfield firefighters rescue cat in “oldest call in the book”
BROOKFIELD — Volunteer firefighters helped out with “one of the fire department’s oldest calls in the book” Saturday — getting a cat out of a tree.
Brookfield fire companies were dispatched just before noon for a cat who was stuck in a tree, according to Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department, Candlewood Company Inc.’s Facebook page.
“After a few corny jokes, it was decided the best way to help our four-legged friend down was with Engine 1,” the post read.
The crews successfully rescued the cat, whose owner is unknown, and turned him over to a neighbor who said they would bring him to the Brookfield Animal Hospital to be identified.
