Class to raise funds for ‘fit trails stations’

May 18, 2019

Six members of Leadership Lincoln County’s 2018-19 class plan to raise funds for North Platte “fit trails stations” along local walking and jogging trails.

Leadership Lincoln County is a 10-month study of Lincoln County and North Platte that allows area professionals to develop networking skills, learn about the community, and observe leadership styles in the area.

The members wrote in a letter seeking donations that their desire and commitment is to see North Platte grow, thrive and prosper. Their contribution is a series of 20 stations that will contain instruction signs and exercise equipment designed for the beginner or conditioned athlete.

The group, 6 LLC, has received several commitments for station locations in the community.

“Station locations may include Mid-Plains Community College-South Campus, UNL Extension grounds, along the Buffalo Bill jogging and cycling path, Centennial Park and the Platte River jogging and cycling path,” according to the letter shared by North Platte Area Chamber & Development, which sponsors Leadership Lincoln County.

There are several levels of sponsorship available for businesses and individuals. The sponsorship levels are Tier 1, $750; Tier 2, $375; Tier 3, $250; and Tier 4, $187.50.

People may contact one of the six members of the group for additional information or to confirm sponsorship.
