Pill mill rivalry, murder net Delco man life sentence in opioid epidemic tragedy

Gbolahan Olabode (pictured here) was killed in January 2012 by rivals in a Delaware County pill mill operation. Anthony Vetri, the drug dealer convicted of plotting the slaying, was sentenced to life in federal prison on Tuesday.

An Essington man was sentenced to life in federal prison Tuesday for having a drug rival murdered to edge out competition in the region’s lucrative opioid market.

But neither the defendant, Anthony Vetri, nor his victim, Gbolahan “Bo” Olabode, were typical players in a routine drug world drama.
