CRUHSD candidates invited to take part in two upcoming candidate forums
BULLHEAD CITY — Two forums will give candidates for the Colorado River Union High School District board an opportunity to meet voters and discuss issues of local importance.
On Saturday, the Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mohave County Republican Central Committee will hold a forum at 10 a.m. at the CRUHSD office, 1004 Hancock.
Board candidates Eva Corbett, Laureen Davidson and Royanne Ortiz are expected to attend.
Also at the forum will be candidates of other local and state-level offices. Billy Sipe Jr., running as a write-in candidate for Superior Court Judge, is expected to be there as are state senate candidates J’Aime Morgaine and Sonny Borrelli and state representative candidates Mary McCord-Robinson and Leo Biasiucci.
The first hour of the two-hour forum will be devoted primarily to the school board race, where eight candidates are seeking three seats in the November election.
The second hour will be devoted to the state senate and state representative races.
The student governments of Mohave and River Valley high schools will hold a CRUHSD candidate forum at 7 p.m. Monday at the MHS auditorium.
Confirmed attendees include Lori Crampton and Davidson, two incumbents, as well as Richard Cardone, Carlos Lopez and Pat Young. Candidates Corbett, Ortiz and Mishaun Newman have potential schedule conflicts and may not be able to attend, according to a news release announcing the forum.
Local businessman and civic leader Paul Bull will serve as moderator.
