September 15, 2018

Peotone mixed things up in its gameplan and took to the air in its victory against Reed-Custer.

Gesswein completed 3-of-4 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown, and after an intense voting battle, he edged out Watseka’s Anthony Quinn 906-876 to earn honors as Daily Journal Player of the Week for his Week 3 performance.

Quinn finished 10-of-18 passing for 153 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ Sangamon Valley Conference victory against Momence.

Also receiving votes was Coal City’s Payton Hutchings, Central’s Jay Lemenager and Kankakee’s Mattis Clark.
