White House names nominee for Rhode Island US attorney
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The White House has named its pick for the new U.S. attorney for Rhode Island.
Aaron Weisman was nominated Wednesday to replace acting U.S. Attorney Stephen Dambruch. Dambruch has held the position since May.
Weisman serves as the state’s assistant attorney general and the chief of the state attorney general’s criminal appeals unit.
He has served in the attorney general’s office since 1993.
The appointment requires U.S. Senate confirmation.
