Mother Charged With Beating Daughter’s Classmate
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ The mother and two other adult relatives of a girl are accused of attacking a 14-year-old boy who had scuffled with the girl before school.
Kasey Guerra was in class at Benson High School when the girl walked in with three adults, who beat him with a pipe and kicked and stomped on him.
His teacher ran for help as classmates watched in disbelief.
″I was in shock because things like this don’t ever happen,″ said Nick E. Cameron, who sat in the desk behind Guerra. ″Parents don’t come in and beat up a kid.″
Police said Thursday’s attack resulted from a before-school scuffle.
Journna Lee Logan, 30, the girl’s mother, and Monica Lee Jackson, 34, were charged with assault. Police were still seeking the man who was involved.
The state took custody of the girl, who also was 14.
