WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona says President Donald Trump must be willing to confront Russia’s Vladimir Putin during their summit Monday in Helsinki. McCain says that if Trump is not prepared to hold Putin accountable, the summit should not take place. McCain’s statement comes after the Justice Department announced charges Friday against 12 Russian intelligence officers accused of interfering in the 2016 presidential election by hacking into Democratic accounts.

ELLESBOROUGH, England (AP) — President Donald Trump has arrived in Scotland, where he will spend the weekend at one of his private golf courses. Air Force One landed Friday evening at Glasgow Prestwick Airport from England, where the president met with Prime Minister Theresa May and Queen Elizabeth II. Trump is traveling to Trump Turnberry, an award-winning club owned by his company. White House officials would not say whether Trump will play golf over the weekend.

GARDEN CITY, Ind. (AP) — Taxpayers have forked over more than $20 million to clean up after a chain of failed gas stations owned for decades by Vice President Mike Pence’s family. The Kiel Bros. Oil Co. went bankrupt in 2004. An Associated Press analysis of court, business and environmental records showed that the pollution spans more than 85 contaminated sites in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, and includes problems such as leaking storage tanks. The work is nowhere near complete.

NEW YORK (AP) — Scarlett Johansson has pulled out of the film “Rub & Tug” after her plans to portray a transgender man prompted a backlash. In a statement to Out.com on Friday, Johansson said she’s withdrawing from the project “in light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting.” Last week, Johansson said she would star as prostitution ring leader Dante “Tex” Gill, who was born Lois Jean Gill but identified as a man.
