Burnettown man wins $250,000 from a lottery ticket bought in Warrenville
A Burnettown man won $250,000 after purchasing a $10 lottery ticket from Valley Jack in Warrenville.
“My four children, which are cats, and I are going to enjoy this blessing,” the winner said in a news release from S.C. Education Lottery on Monday. “Nothing fancy, all I’m going to do is get a new home with a reasonable price tag.”
The winner mentioned he might take a trip to Myrtle Beach. However, in spite of looking into a new home, he will not be upgrading his vehicle, claiming there is nothing wrong with his truck.
The night before traveling to Columbia to receive his $250,000 prize, the man reportedly did not change clothes, shower or even sleep after scratching off his Emerald Green 10s ticket and realizing he’d hit the jackpot.
Valley Jack, where the winning ticket was purchased, is located at 3488 Augusta Road, and the store will receive a commission of $2,500 for selling the winning ticket.
Five other top prizes remain with the Emerald Green 10s lottery tickets. The odds of winning are 1 in 660,000.
