Wayne BOE rolls out teacher recognition program

WAYNE — Superintendent Todd Alexander and the Wayne County Board of Education have introduced a new way to recognize county employees ranging from janitors, to teachers, to councelors and administration. Alexander publicaly recognized what he is calling “Wayne County Service Employees of the Month.”

Nominations are made by Wayne County Employees and then selected by the Board of Education based upon the recommendation of the nominees peers.

Alexander chose the Nov. 27 BOE meeting as the first time to publically recognize 18 employees.

Cheryl Canterbury, Chanda Perry, Pamels Thompson, Diane Pierce, Lara Queen, Terri Dawn Tanner, Josh Rose, Benita Milam, Emily Bailey, George New, Priscilla Bailey, Kim Cottle, Sonya Brewer, Lezlie Mann, Elias Perry, Rachel Ferguson, Lorisa Thompson and Debbie Evans were all selected as Service Employees of the Month.
