Lake Mills writer Lahna Anhalt will be at Tribeca GalleryCafe & Books Saturday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. to showcase her new book, “Aunt Laura’s Attic: Short Biographies of Famous People You’ve Never Heard Of.”
The book focuses on 10 people who, although mostly unknown today, helped change the course of history with their accomplishments, inventions, companies, events and books. Anhalt spent 10 years researching and writing the book.
Anhalt lives in a 1870s farmhouse in Lake Mills. She is a docent at Watertown’s Octagon House and at the Governor’s Mansion in Madison. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Wisconsin and has taught kindergarten through eighth grades, in a migrant school as well as graduate summer classes.
Anhalt is also an accomplished harpist, among other instruments, and has performed locally.
