Eighth-graders take Golden Horseshoe Test

HUNTINGTON — Students from across Cabell County recently participated in the Golden Horseshoe Test, which evaluates knowledge of West Virginia History and has been given to eighth-graders every year since 1931.

The test is given annually to approximately 20,000 students across West Virginia.

The following individuals will be inducted as “Knights” and “Ladies” of the Golden Horseshoe Society:

• Hunter Gracey, Huntington Middle School

• James Gwinn, Barboursville Middle School

• Logan Jordan, Milton Middle School

• Robert McClellan, Barboursville Middle School

• Lucas Stanley, Milton Middle School

• Jackson Stewart, Barboursville Middle School

• Rowan Williams, Huntington East Middle School

The Golden Horseshoe Ceremony will take place Friday, May 3, beginning at 9:45 a.m. at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston.

Seating for the ceremony is limited.
