Midnight blaze destroys Greenwich home
GREENWICH — A Locust Road home collapsed early Friday morning after a fire broke out overnight.
The Greenwich Fire Department responded to a fire at 15 Locust Road around midnight. Fire officials said the two-and-a-half story home was completely aflame by the time units arrived.
With no hydrants nearby, firefighters required water tankers to fight the fire. Firefighters eventually needed to draft additional water from a nearby pond to extinguish the flames.
It is uncertain if there were any residents home at the time of the fire.
The department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
