CHARLES RAY “BO” HUGHES, 80, of Huntington, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Chapman’s Mortuary. Burial will be in Balls Chapel Cemetery, Ashton, W.Va. He was born January 24, 1939, in Huntington, a son of the late George Casby and Irene May Wray Hughes. His sister, Sylvia Thomas, and a nephew, Ronnie Chapman, also preceded him in death. He formerly worked at Lester Industries in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a member of the Army National Guard. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Joshua Smith of Huntington; two sons, Christopher Hughes of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Charles Ray Hughes Jr. and his wife Amanda Hughes of Charleston, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Adrienne Hughes, Camryn Hughes, Dylan Hughes, Caleb Smith, Carter Smith and Greenlee Smith; a sister, Hazel Chapman; nephew, Roger Chapman; great-nephews and great-nieces, Justin Chapman, Kristi Davis, Rhonda Chapman, Ronnie Chapman Jr. and Carla Chapman; and several great-great-nieces and-nephews.
