Atascocita’s Green named Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the year

Atascocita’s Kenyon Green was named the Offensive Player of the Year at the Touchdown Club of Houston’s 2018 UIL High School Awards Dinner on Wednesday night.

Green anchored the offensive line for the Eagles this season after collecting 60 pancakes.

Atascocita had a prolific offense that scored 51.2 points per game this season, averaging 466.5 yards per game. The Eagles scored 86 total touchdowns and finished 11-2 this season.

Green, who played right tackle this season, plans to sign early with Texas A&M.

The Texas A&M commitment is ranked as the state’s top overall player according to 247Sports.

“It’s a relief,” Green said of signing early. “It’s a relief on my parents’ shoulders. Don’t have to pay for college. I’ve put in enough work and enough time and enough effort to get that off their shoulders. Just blessed to be in this opportunity.”

Green is the first award winner from Atascocita and is third player from Humble ISD to receives this award.

Atascocita head coach Craig Stump was a finalist for Coach of the Year.
