Pirates blown out by Glarner Knights, fall to 0-8

NEW GLARUS — Connor Siegenthaler threw two touchdown passes and ran for two scores for New Glarus/Monticello in a 35-6 Capitol South win over Waterloo’s football team on Friday.

Siegethaler was 4-of-5 for 26 yards and two TDs passing and added 11 rushes for 38 yards, including a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs in the first half.

As team, New Glarus/Monticello (4-4, 2-1 Capitol South) rushed 45 times for 222 yards. Darris Schuett was 5-of-13 passing for the Glarner Knights and led the team on the ground with 11 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Waterloo (0-8, 0-4) scored its only points in the third quarter on a 1-yard scoring run by junior quarterback Chase Bostwick.

Waterloo closes out the regular season with a nonconference home game against Fennimore next Friday.
