OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association reprimanded Missouri-Rolla basketball coach Dale Martin on Monday for violating NCAA rules.

Martin provided a player with $162.30 in meals and a gift while the player was renting property from him, the conference said Monday.

The university instituted a policy governing staff rentals to student athletes.

The university also made the player, who was not identified, pay restitution to a charity to cover the cost of the meals he was given. He also must return the gift and assist the university's compliance officer in presenting a team workshop on NCAA regulations on extra benefits.

Martin must attend an NCAA compliance seminar and a session regarding extra benefits.

The NCAA ruled the incident a secondary infraction, and no further action was taken.
