Former Casper wrestling club treasurer admits theft

September 14, 2018

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A 54-year-old former treasurer of the Casper Wrestling Club has admitted in a Wyoming court that she used club money for her own personal expenses, including payments to a plastic surgeon and a women’s beauty boutique.

KTWO-AM reports that Wanda Sue Atkinson pleaded guilty before District Judge Thomas Sullins on Friday to a single count of felony theft.

A plea agreement between prosecutors and Atkinson calls for her to receive first-time offender treatment, meaning that she would serve a term of supervised probation but a conviction would not be entered in the case.

Assistant District Attorney Dan Itzen told Sullins that Atkinson would also be required to pay about $1,700 in restitution.

Atkinson will be sentenced at a later date.
