Escapee Arrested When He Tries To Work At Jail
OWATONNA, Minn. (AP) _ A man wanted for escaping from a California jail got a job - and arrested, when he showed up for work at a jail here, authorities said.
Aaron Roy Wilson, 19, was arrested Monday as he arrived for work at the Steele County Law Enforcement Center, after a jailer thought Wilson matched a description on a telex from Yolo County, Calif.
Wilson had worked one previous shift as a janitor at the center using the name Swain Ward Labarge, said Steele County Sheriff Bill Hildebrandt. The jailer who became suspicious notified Owatonna Police Officer Joel Welinski, who contacted Yolo County authorities for a better description of the escapee.
Wilson, who was serving time for possession of cocaine, put up no resistance when he was arrested and booked Monday night, Hildebrandt said. He is being held pending a court appearance.
