_ HUMAN TRAFFICKING RING: A six-member jury has begun deliberations in the trial of a Connecticut businessman charged in connection with what prosecutors say was a human trafficking ring that preyed on mentally ill and intellectually disabled boys and young men. UPCOMING: 130 words.

_ FRIENDLY’S RESTAURANTS-CLOSINGS: The Friendly’s ice cream and restaurant chain has closed 23 more restaurants around the Northeast, including three in Connecticut. The Wilbraham, Massachusetts-based company cited dramatic changes in the areas where some restaurants are located for the closures of the corporate-owned shops. SENT.
