Democrat Candace Fay nominated for Danbury Zoning Commission
DANBURY — Democrat Candace Fay is expected to be appointed to the Danbury Zoning Commission on Tuesday night.
Fay is a lifelong Danbury resident and attorney who previously served a two-year term as an alternate on the elected board that examines changes to where certain development is allowed in the city.
“I think we should be doing things on every commission that can preserve the integrity of the city to attract the people we want to the city and keep the people we need,” she said last month.
Fay unsuccessfully challenged Republican State Rep. Dan Carter for the 2nd District seat in 2014.
Fay was recommended by the Democratic Town Committee to fill the vacancy left by Ted Haddad, Jr., who resigned from the commission late last year. City Council is expected to consider Fay’s appointment at its meeting Tuesday.
