MBU men take down WLC
David Lerma notched a career-high 25 points and visiting Maranatha Baptist University erased a two-point halftime deficit to beat Wisconsin Lutheran College 81-75 in a nonconference game on Saturday night.
The game saw 14 lead changes and no team held an advantage of more than seven points.
The Sabercats’ Matt Gill tied a personal-best 14 points in his first career start. Maranatha (2-1) shot 15 of 17 from the free-throw line and outrebounded Wisconsin Lutheran (1-1) 38-24. Maranatha next plays on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, at 7 p.m.
