Xcel: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Xcel Energy Inc. (XEL) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $238 million.
On a per-share basis, the Minneapolis-based company said it had net income of 46 cents.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 53 cents per share.
The utility posted revenue of $2.58 billion in the period.
Xcel expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.55 to $2.65 per share.
Xcel shares have risen 21% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 19%. The stock has climbed 27% in the last 12 months.
