Sri Lanka wins toss, bowls vs New Zealand in 3rd ODI
NELSON, New Zealand (AP) — Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl against New Zealand in the third one-day cricket international at Saxton Oval on Tuesday.
Captain Lasith Malinga said Sri Lanka felt it was better placed chasing a total than setting one. Saxton Oval has a history of favoring teams that bat second.
New Zealand made one change to its lineup, naming seamer Lockie Ferguson in place of Trent Boult as it continued to share the bowling workload.
Sri Lanka made three changes, opting for seamer Dushmantha Chameera ahead of spinner Seekuge Prasanna, and naming batsmen Dhananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shanaka in place of Dinesh Chandimal and Asela Gunaratne.
New Zealand has already won the three-match series, taking the first match by 45 runs and the second by 21 runs.
