SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ Bob Brenly and rookie Chris Brown each drove in two runs to power the San Francisco Giants to an 11-2 victory over the California Angels in an exhibition game Wednesday.

Brenly hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning and Brown tripled to drive in two runs when the Giants scored five runs off losing pitcher Ron Romanick in the second inning.

David Green, obtained in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, had two doubles and scored three runs for the Giants.

Mike Krukow pitched five scoreless innings, allowing only three hits to get the victory.

The Angels scored twice in the sixth inning against Giants rookie Mark Grant. Singles by Doug DeCinces, Brian Downing and Rob Wilfong accounted for the runs.

Following the game, the Giants cut seven players from their roster. Sent to the minor league training base for re-assignment were pitchers Jeff Cornell, Colin Ward, Mark Calvert, Kelley Downs and Grant; catcher Matt Nokes and outfielder Randy Kutcher.
