Museum Month offers deals to members
San Antonio arts lovers, the city’s museums have a deal for you.
Throughout October, 12 arts institutions are offering reciprocal general admission deals. That means that if you have a membership at one of the participating museums, you can get free admission for two at all 12. (And yes, the deal applies to new members throughout October.)
The participating museums are Artpace, Blue Star Contemporary, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, the DoSeum, the McNay Art Museum, the San Antonio Art League & Museum, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, the Southwest School of Art, the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures, Villa Finale Museum and Gardens and the Witte Museum.

Each of the organizations will offer membership perks and special events throughout the month, as well. Events include receptions, concerts, artist talks and other offerings.
“It’s the best deal,” said Katie Luber, director for the San Antonio Museum of Art, following a press conference mapping out the details at the Briscoe on Wednesday morning.
Museum Month is an official Tricentennial event.
“San Antonio museums are the the perfect places to immerse oneself in the Tricentennial spirit,” said Carlos Contreras, assistant city manager and executive director of San Antonio Tricentennial.
