WiConnect Enters Market Providing Wi-Fi Monetization

May 15, 2018

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2018--In a world where smartphones, laptops, tablets and other connected devices require almost limitless connectivity, free Wi-Fi access in public places is not only expected, it’s often considered a basic right. While venue owners want to meet their customer and visitor connectivity expectations, installing and operating a high quality, public Wi-Fi network is costly. WiConnect, a Monetization as a Service (MaaS) provider, has entered the market to generate revenue for those offering free Wi-Fi service so venue owners and city managers alike can offset costs associated with providing this highly sought after amenity.

“Free Wi-Fi has become expected from transit riders, hotel guests, and visitors at sports venues, coffee shops and even city parks,” said Brian Jacks, Founder and CEO of WiConnect. “However, the cost of installing and maintaining Wi-Fi infrastructure is skyrocketing. WiConnect was created to shift this paradigm by being a one-stop-shop for generating revenue from these networks. We provide this monetization service so our clients do not have to invest in costly platforms and services.”

Current Wi-Fi monetization platforms are fragmented requiring multiple, uncoordinated solutions and service contracts with various vendors necessitating internal expertise and management oversight. WiConnect’s unique MaaS model incorporates proven approaches such as procuring, integrating and managing connectivity services for Wireless Carriers, Mobile Virtual Network Operators and other service providers who need to realize lower data connectivity costs and improve mobile service within venues and urban centers. Additionally, WiConnect leverages its proprietary, targeted advertising platform based on its Data Distribution Engine that is integrated with the programmatic advertising Real Time Bidding (RTB) ecosystem to maximize advertising revenues. WiConnect does all this while offering enhanced User Experiences personalized by audience and venue type that includes both online and offline ad and Big Data monetization.

WiConnect also offers a customized dashboard and reporting capabilities for complete visibility of how well their clients’ Wi-Fi networks are generating new revenues.

“Developing the right business strategies and technical methods for Wi-Fi monetization is absolutely critical for the continued proliferation of public Wi-Fi,” said Claus Hetting, CEO and Chairman of Wi-Fi NOW. “At Wi-Fi NOW, we’re delighted that WiConnect is launching a new product and service to this end. The WiConnect team are some of the most committed and experienced professionals in this space. We will be following their successes closely and also lending our support.”

WiConnect will be at the Wi-FI NOW conference in San Francisco from May 15-17. To meet onsite and learn more about the offerings, contact us here or at rchin@affect.com.
