2.6 magnitude earthquake hits northern Utah County
Residents in northern Utah County felt a bit of a shake last night as a small earthquake hit the area.
According to the U.S. Geological Service, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 11:21 p.m. Saturday. The epicenter of the earthquake was on the west side of Utah Lake, about 1.2 miles south-southeast of Saratoga Springs.
Residents in Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain and Lehi reported feeling the strongest effects from the quake, though according to community internet intensity maps from the U.S. Geological Service, the shaking could be felt as far as south as Santaquin and Payson and as far north as Bountiful.
