We want to meet your rescue pets and share their stories

Do you think your pet has that certain star quality? Do you have a great story to tell about how your dog, cat, bird, iguana or ferret came to be living in your home?

We are looking to hear from more of you about the pets you have rescued – or who have rescued you!

My husband and I live with two rescue cats. Our 10-year-old black cat, Elmo, came to us through a conventional adoption from Kitten Krazy, a cat rescue in Medina County. Our newest addition – Stoop Cat – spent most of his kittenhood scrounging meals off our front porch and taking naps on our outdoor furniture before finally agreeing to come indoors last November and join the family.

We also have a “grandcat” our grown daughter adopted from the Medina County SPCA.

I can tell lots of wonderful stories about how our rescues have made our lives richer – and maybe I will share them with you soon. In the meantime, I would LOVE to hear all about your special critters!

So start writing and snapping photos of your handsome pets and send them along so that I can share them with our readers.

Do you share your life with an animal that is near and dear to you? Tell us something about your pet -- all species are welcome -- and send along a photo of the two of you. Be sure to tell us which Greater Cleveland community you live in. Send everything to Ann Norman at anorman@cleveland.com.
