Man Pins Intruder Till Police Arrive
WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) _ A man who walked in on an intruder held him in a headlock until police could get to the scene.
Luke Gagne said he punched the intruder and knocked him down after catching him in his parents’ house Wednesday, then pinned him to the floor and called 911.
The first police car sent to the house collided with a pickup truck, so another cruiser had to be dispatched.
Gagne, who said he had never been in a fight before, broke a finger in the scuffle. A dispatcher talked to him on the phone while he waited for police to arrive. ″It felt like 20 minutes, but they were here within three to four minutes,″ he said.
Michael A. Shaw, 31, pleaded innocent at his arraignment Friday on a charge of burglary.
