Abortion opponents to gather on Boston Common for rally
BOSTON (AP) — Abortion opponents are planning to gather on Boston Common on Sunday.
Organizers say the Massachusetts March for Life will start with a Rally at 1:00 p.m. at the Parkman Bandstand followed by the march at 2:30 p.m.
Massachusetts Citizens for Life President Anne Fox said she expects the Supreme Court decision upholding President Obama’s health care law will energize those who don’t want tax dollars to pay for abortion services.
One goal of the march is to raise money for pregnancy resource centers. Marchers also want to bring attention to what they say are the approximately 1.2 million abortions that have taken place in Massachusetts since 1973.
Speakers at the rally include state legislators, clergy and other leaders.
Cardinal Sean O’Malley will close the rally and lead off the march.
