Teen arrested in fatal shooting of boy, 14, in Cleveland
CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say a 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder in juvenile court for the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy at an abandoned apartment building in Cleveland.
Cleveland police spokesman David Gallagher says officers responded Monday afternoon to a call from neighbors about gunshots and found the 14-year-old, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Gallagher says the 15-year-old was seen running from the building and was later arrested. Gallagher provided no additional details about the shooting or possible motive.
The teen was also charged Wednesday in Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County Juvenile Court with tampering with evidence and illegal possession of a weapon by a felon. Court records show he was convicted in 2014 of a juvenile arson charge.
It’s unclear whether the teen has an attorney.
