Possibility of snow, sleet across CT

March 9, 2019

Don’t break out your spring gear just yet.

Although the temperatures hovered in the mid-40s Saturday with sunshine covering the state, cold weather is expected to hit overnight Saturday into Sunday, with the possibility of sleet and snow.

Connecticut will be under a winter weather advisory from 4 a.m. to noon Sunday with a forecast of mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of up to two inches and up to one-tenth of an inch of ice could fall, according to the National Weather Service.

The inclement weather is expected to develop late Saturday night, with a changeover to all rain by 8 a.m. Sunday in most areas. The northern part of the state could see freezing rain into the morning.

The weather is expected to make roads slippery, so if you must drive, do so carefully.
