Lady ’Stangs to host Lincoln County on Friday

April 11, 2019

NEEDLES — Coming off a 12-7 non-conference win over Mohave Accelerated Learning Center on April 1, Lady ’Stangs softball faces what’s likely to be their toughest NIAA 2A South challenge yet this season when they host the Lincoln County Lady Lynx on Friday.

Both JV and varsity are scheduled to play; starting times are 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m.

Sandy Chandler of the Lady ’Stangs coaching staff said he believed Lincoln returns two pitchers this year though they graduated several players. Needles will stick with senior Paige Murch in the circle through this season after graduating pretty much the entire infield last year.

Needles’ girls are hitting hard and well, Chandler said; but the underclassmen defense can still get rattled at times.
