Woman to remain held without bail for girlfriend’s stabbing
FITCHBURG, Mass. (AP) — A judge has ruled a Massachusetts woman will remain jailed without bail in connection to the stabbing death of her girlfriend.
The Sentinel & Enterprise reports that the lawyer for 33-year-old Wanda Liz Gonzalez said during her bail hearing Wednesday there was no point to entertain bail because she has no place to live.
Prosecutors say Gonzalez fatally stabbed 34-year-old Jennifer Narvaez-Colon at the Fitchburg home they shared Nov. 6.
Police found Narvaez-Colon outside, surrounded by her three young children trying to help her. She later died at a hospital.
Gonzalez, also injured in the altercation, was originally charged with domestic assault and other offenses. Prosecutors added the murder charge after Narvaez-Colon’s death was ruled a homicide.
Gonzalez’s attorney says his client’s wounds were defensive and she was the victim.
