No. 24 Oregon Sinks Gonzaga 73-57
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) _ Andrea Bills had 16 points and eight rebounds to spark No. 24 Oregon to a 73-57 victory Tuesday night over Gonzaga.
Reserve forward Carolyn Ganes scored 14 of her 15 points in the second half for Oregon (3-0), and point guard Corrie Mizusawa tied the school record with 14 assists.
Ashley Burke led Gonzaga (1-2) with 16 points. Anne Bailey added 15 points and nine rebounds.
The game was tied at 28-28 at halftime, but the Ducks pounded the ball inside for easy baskets in the second half.
Still, Cathrine Kraayeveld was limited by foul trouble in the first half. After averaging 25.5 points and 10 rebounds in Oregon’s first two games, she was held to seven points, five rebounds and four blocked shots.
The Ducks shot just 36 percent in the first half, but made 69 percent in the second and 53 percent for the game. The Bulldogs, who made 15 of their 22 turnovers in the first half, shot 43 percent.
