Burewll def. North Central 23-22: Junior quarterback Jase Williams lifts the Longhorns over the Knights after being down at halftime by one, with 138 passing yards, 177 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Senior Sage Konicek also contributed a rushing touchdown. Senior receiver Josh Urbanovsky caught two touchdown passes during the contest and led the team in tackles with 14. Senior Bode Jensen and junior Baden Copsey both were able to snag interceptions during the contest.
Creighton def. Exeter-Milligan/Friend 72-26: Creighton looked to be unstoppable on Monday. The victory pushed Creighton to a 12-0 record and to the school’s first state championship game since 2010. The Bulldogs piled 476 yards, including 435 on the ground. Brayden and Bryce Zimmerer accounted for eight touchdowns during the game. EMF put the ball on the ground three times during the first half.
Mullen def. Lawrence-Nelson 36-24: Lawrence-Nelson held a 24-6 halftime lead, before Mullen scored 30 unanswered points to comeback and clinch a spot in the D2 state championship. Senior running back Lane Edis ran for touchdowns of 37, 52 and 31 yards in the second half.
Johnson-Brock def. Humphrey St. Francis: 54-36: Senior quarterback Cole Fossenbarger completed 30-of-43 passes for 385 yards and five touchdowns to pace Johnson-Brock to a 58-44 road win over No. 4 Humphrey St. Francis on a frigid Monday night.Sophomore Kaden Glynn snagged 12 catches for 159 yards and three touchdowns, while junior all-state wide receiver Ty Hahn had nine receptions for 131 yards and a pair of scores. Hahn also returned a punt 71 yards for the game’s first touchdown in the opening period.
