DEMI LOVATO MAKES PUBLIC STATEMENT AFTER HOSPITALIZATION
UNDATED (AP) — Demi Lovato is grateful to be alive and thankful for fan support after her hospitalization for a reported overdose nearly two weeks ago. Lovato writes on Instagram she has always been transparent about her addiction and she needs time to focus on her sobriety. She says she will keep on fighting. Lovato does not say how she ended up in the hospital or whether she’s still there.

FORMER BASSIST FOR 3 DOORS DOWN ARRESTED WHILE IN JAIL
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — Former 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell is accused of trying to bring drugs into jail. Media reports in Pascagoula, Mississippi, say Jackson County Sheriff’s Department arrested Harrell Friday on a charge of introducing narcotics into a correctional facility. Sheriff Mike Ezell says the drugs were found in the incoming mail to the jail. Harrell left 3 Doors Down after he got a second DUI in 2012. He is in jail after being arrested in June on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
TRAVIS SCOTT APOLOGIZES FOR “ASTROWORLD” ALTERATION
UNDATED (AP) — Travis Scott is apologizing for the altered image on his “Astroworld” album cover created by photographer David LaChappelle that removes an image of transgender model Amanda Lepore. Scott writes on Instagram he was taught to accept everyone and he has “nothing but respect for the LGBTQ community.” An earlier version of the cover had Lepore on it. Lepore had written on Instagram she was “too distracting for the eyes” and she “upstaged everyone in the photograph.” Scott says, “Yo Amanda, you did upstage everyone, even me.” Scott says he is working with LaChappelle on a booklet of images from the album shoot.
LOLLAPALOOZA WRAPS UP FOUR DAYS OF FUN AND HEAT
CHICAGO (AP) — Members of Rainbow Kitten Surprise say they keep telling people to drink water — because people sometimes are having such a good time that they forget. Singer Sam Melo (MAY’-loh) says when temperatures hit the mid-90s during their set at Lollapalooza yesterday, he had to keep telling people to stay hydrated. Lollapalooza was a sweet moment for John Splithoff (SPLIT’-off). He grew up in Chicago and used to come as a fan. Zach Carothers of Portugal. The Man jokes they have better security since they played Lollapalooza seven years ago. That was when their equipment van got swiped after their set. Carothers says they have only positive feelings because the city of Chicago showed them more love than they’ve ever seen. Headliners for the four-day festival included Bruno Mars, Travis Scott, Arctic Monkeys, The Weeknd and Jack White.

DOLLYWOOD ANNOUNCES EXPANSION
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (AP) — Dolly Parton says she hopes the expansion of her Dollywood amusement park will give visitors a place where they can explore, play and imagine together. Parton’s park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has announced a $37 million expansion called Wildwood Grove that will include a suspended roller coaster, five other rides, a restaurant and live entertainment. It will open next year.
DRAKE IS STILL NUMBER ONE
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Drake’s “Scorpion” is still the top album in the nation. It tops the Billboard 200 album chart for a fifth week, moving 145,000 units. Kenny Chesney is second with “Songs for the Saints.” Post Malone’s “Beerbongs and Bentleys” is third. Juice WRLD’s “Goodbye and Good Riddance” is number four, and Cardi B’s “Invasion of Privacy” is fifth.
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, NICOLE SCHERZINGER, ROBIN THICKE INVOLVED IN UPCOMING GAME SHOWS
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Look for a music influence on the game shows coming to TV next season. Justin Timberlake is an executive producer for a show called “Spin the Wheel.” Comedian Dax Shepard will host the show on Fox, but an air date was not given. Another game show coming to Fox in January is “The Masked Singer.” Famous singers, sports stars and Broadway performers will compete in elaborate costumes that conceal their identities while a celebrity panel tries to guess who they are. Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy and Ken Jeong will be on the panel. Nick Cannon will host.
JASON ISBELL WILL GET ALABAMA TOURISM AWARD
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Jason Isbell will get an award for encouraging people to visit his home state of Alabama. Isbell will receive one of 16 awards handed out today by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey in Montgomery.
