Casella: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) _ Casella Waste Systems Inc. (CWST) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $11.9 million.
The Rutland, Vermont-based company said it had profit of 25 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 27 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 25 cents per share.
The provider of garbage-disposal and recycling services posted revenue of $187.5 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $184.2 million.
Casella expects full-year revenue in the range of $720 million to $735 million.
Casella shares have risen 50% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $42.86, a climb of 53% in the last 12 months.
