WVC BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Whitehead, Materna Lead Hawkeyes

At North Pocono, Asad Whitehead and Evan Materna each posted double-doubles to lead Hanover Area to a 60-51 win over North Pocono.

Whitehead led with 18 points, Materna added 14 and Justin Kopko chipped in 14 on 7-of-8 shooting.

Robert VanBrunt and Zach Walsh each had 14 points for North Pocono.

At Pittston Area, the Patriots rallied from being down 19-6 after one quarter to tie it by the end of the third. The game went into overtime where Pittston Area outscored West Scranton 12-5 to claim the win.

Logan Booth and Brennan Higgins shared the team-high for Pittston Area (2-2). Mike George chipped in 14 points.

Cayden Merrifield had a game-high 20 points for West Scranton.
