Florence man identified as victim in Thursday morning shooting

FLORENCE, S.C. -- The victim of an early Thursday morning Florence County shooting has been identified as a Florence man.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the victim as Jarvis Wright, 34. A second person was wounded in the same incident.

Florence County deputies responded to reports of shots fired on Hyman Street about midnight and arrived to find two victims, who were transported to a Florence area hospital for treatment of injuries. One died later at the hospital, according to a release issued by the agency. The other was treated for a “non-life-threatening gunshot wound,” according to a release from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
