BOSTON (AP) _ The Red Sox returned to Fenway Park on a rainy Friday after taking three bus trips, an airplane and a train on a journey from Florida that began more than 24 hours earlier.

Outfielder Manny Ramirez and pitcher Rod Beck declined comment as they got off their bus and went into the park. Others walked in silently with tired expressions.

The Red Sox were scheduled to play at Tampa Bay in a three-game series that was to end Thursday night. That series and a three-game weekend series at Baltimore were postponed.

That began an odyssey that started about 11 a.m. EDT Thursday when the team boarded buses in Tampa, Fla., to catch a train that took them to Virginia.

They took other buses to the airport in Baltimore where they caught a flight to Green Airport in Warwick, R.I., just south of Providence. They arrived early Friday afternoon for the final leg of their trip _ a three-bus caravan with a police escort _ that ended about 3:20 p.m.

Boston's next game is scheduled at home Tuesday night, the start of a 10-game homestand. They'll play three games against Tampa Bay and Detroit and end their home season Sept. 27 with the fourth game of their series against Baltimore.

Boston's regular season was to end Sept. 30 with three road games in Detroit.

The six missed games likely will be played starting Oct. 1. There was no word on whether a rained-out game at Yankee Stadium last Monday would be rescheduled.
