Where Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke will be this weekend in Texas
With just 59 days until early voting starts, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and his Democratic rival Beto O’Rourke are both out on the road again campaigning this weekend.
Cruz is planning stops in Georgetown before making the long drive to Odessa on Saturday. On Monday he’ll be back up in the Dallas area before returning to Washington.
O’Rourke meanwhile starts Saturday morning block-walking around Nieto Park in Houston before doing town hall meetings at a VFW post in Navasota and later in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University.
Both Cruz and O’Rourke have been using August to campaign nearly nonstop as they prepare for their Nov. 6 showdown. Early voting in the race begins Oct. 22.
Three publicly released polls in a row have show the race close. The most recent of those was released this week and showed Cruz with a 4 percentage point lead with 6 percent of voters still undecided.
