City seeks help naming recreation path

July 7, 2018

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The city of Montpelier is asking for the public’s help in naming a section of its recreation path.

The Times Argus reports a $100 gift certificate to Onion River Outdoors is being offer to the winner of the naming contest. The contest runs through Sept. 3.

The mile-long shared-use path runs from the Dog River Recreation area to the Taylor Street Bridge.

The Montpelier Complete Street Group, which has been looking at how to make the city safer for pedestrians and cyclists, organized the contest.

Contestants may enter by filling out an online form or printing it and sending it to the city clerk’s office. A winner will be announced in October.
