Pedestrian killed in Las Vegas; Impaired driver suspected
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a pedestrian is dead after a driver believed to be impaired lost control of a pickup truck in northeast Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Metro Police say the truck struck a fire hydrant and a light pole, injuring a pedestrian around 7:15 a.m. Sunday.
The pedestrian was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
Police didn’t immediately release the name of the person, who was sitting at a bus stop before the crash.
They say the driver was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
That person’s name also wasn’t immediately released by police.
