‘Bomb’ brings police to Far East Side; HazMat determined it was not
A two-liter bottle filled with a white substance and sealed with tape brought police and the hazardous materials team to a Far East Side residence Sunday, but the “bomb” turned out to be nothing dangerous.
The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. at a home in the 1900 block of Christine Lane, Madison police said.
The resident called police after discovering the bottle in the back yard.
“Several officers and the Madison Fire Department responded, and the immediate area around the home was secured,” said police Sgt. Nicholas Ellis.
The HazMat team determined the bottle was not a bomb, and the fire department removed the item from the yard.
