PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Shanda Berry scored a career-high 29 points and Carolyn Jones added 21 to lead the New England Blizzard to a 91-84 victory over the Portland Power on Saturday.

New England (7-13) shot 59 percent in the second half and survived several comeback attempts from Portland to earn its second victory in a row.

Portland (5-15), which had won three of its last four games, also shot 59 percent in the second half, but was hurt by 21 turnovers.

The game was tied nine times, four times in the fourth quarter.

Portland last knotted the game on Stacey Ford’s layup with 3:43 left, making it 76-76. The Blizzard, however, made 12 of its 14 free throws in the period, and 10 of its last 16 points were from the free-throw line.

Portland could never get closer than three after Ford’s basket.

Ford led Portland with 21 points, while Harrison added 18.
